Courses we offer

GQA Level 1 Award in Construction Health and Safety ➜

The GQA CSCS Green Card is intended for those working in labouring occupations only and is delivered in a classroom environment through PowerPoint presentations with individual and group engagement. On completion of the Level 1 Award, all attendees will be required to sit the GQA multiple choice Health and Safety test, and if the pass mark is achieved, we will apply for your GQA CSCS Green Card on the same day.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Passive Fire Protection ➜

The NVQ Level 2 in Fire Stopping (Passive Fire Protection) qualification is for experienced passive fire stoppers that have a good working knowledge of their trade.

To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate two of the following skills:

  • Identify and safely use the access equipment such as podium, tower or scissor lift
  • Install fire rated walls
  • Install fire rated ceilings
  • Install dry cladding
  • Apply intumescent coatings
  • Install fire stopping
  • Install cavity barriers
  • Apply non-reactive spray coatings
  • Install fire resisting timber door sets

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Decorative Finishing (Construction) ➜

The NVQ Level 2 in Painting and Decorating qualification is for painters and decorators that have a good working knowledge of their trade.

To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Prepare surfaces
  • Paint walls and ceilings using brushes and rollers
  • Moving, handling and storing of resources
  • Use working platforms/podiums and step ladders

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Interior Systems ➜

The Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Interior Systems offers different routes depending on your job role:

  • Fixing
  • Ceiling fixing
  • Taping and jointing
  • Boarding/tacking

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Cladding Occupations ➜

This qualification is for workers who install cladding to roofs and walls and rainwater goods. There is an optional unit in this qualification for rainscreen systems.

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Wood Occupations ➜

This qualification offers different routes for joiners who first and second fix, erect roof structures, timber framed walls and floors and kitchen fitters.

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

GQA Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Construction Operations and Civil Engineering ➜

This qualification is for groundworkers who have a good working knowledge of their trade. There are different routes for Modular Pavement Construction, Laying Kerbs and Channels, General Building Operations, Drainage Construction, Structural Concreting, Non-Structural Concreting and Excavation and Reinstatement.

This will get you a Skilled Worker (Blue) CSCS Card.

External Wall Insulation ➜

For plasterers and renderers who install external wall systems like Wetherby, Knauf, British Gypsum and K-Rend.

Internal Wall Insulation ➜

For insulators who install insulation to walls, floors and ceilings.

Maintenance Operations ➜

This is a multi-trade qualification for workers who specialise in plaster, tile, paint and joinery.

METSEC/SBS Erector ➜

For steel erectors who erect steel frame roofs, walls and floors.

GQA Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Occupational Work Supervision ➜

The Work Supervisor NVQ Level 3 qualification is for experienced supervisors overseeing a single trade/gang onsite.

To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:

  • Supervising individuals or teams
  • Confirming work activities and methods of work
  • Co-ordinating and organising work
  • Maintaining Health and Safety and Welfare Systems
  • Allocating and monitoring the use of plant, machinery and equipment
  • Monitoring progress of work against schedules
  • Confirming work meets quality standards

This will get you a Supervisory Gold CSCS Card.

GQA Level 4 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Supervision ➜

This qualification is for experienced site supervisors who have the knowledge and skills required to efficiently supervise a full site under the direction of a site manager. Supervising quality, Health and Safety and build progress whilst liaising with site managers, clients, sub-contractors, building control, technical departments and the general public where applicable.

You MUST be a Supervisor in one of the following areas:

·        Building and Civil Engineering

·        Highways and Maintenance Repair

·        Residential Development

·        Traditional and Heritage Building

·        Tunnelling

·        Retrofit

This qualification will get you a Gold Supervisor’s CSCS card.

GQA Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Contracting Operations Management ➜

Aimed at experienced operations managers who have the knowledge and skills required to effectively manage teams and meet contractual obligations in the workplace. This is suitable for managers in varied roles such as contract management, procurement and quality.

This qualification will get you a Black Manager’s CSCS card.

GQA Level 6 NVQ Diploma in Construction Site Management ➜

This qualification is for experienced site managers who have the knowledge and skills required to efficiently manage a full site. Managing quality, Health and Safety and build progress, whilst liaising with senior managers, clients, sub-contractors, building control, technical departments and the general public where applicable.

The NVQ Level 6 in Construction Site Management (CSM) is for managers that have a good working knowledge of their trade.

You MUST be a Manager in one of the following areas:
· Building and Civil Engineering
· Highways and Maintenance Repair
· Residential Development
· Retrofit

This qualification will get you a Black Manager’s CSCS card.

GQA Level 7 NVQ Diploma in Construction Senior Management ➜

This qualification is for experienced senior managers who have the knowledge and skills required to manage and run multiple project sites or processes and meet contractual obligations in the workplace, ensuring all quality health and safety and time scale remain in line with the build programme efficiently and accurately.

To get this NVQ you will be able to demonstrate the following skills:
· Controlling projects
· Manage projects processes
· Manage teams
· Lead and manage meetings

You MUST be a Manager in one of the following areas:
· Building and Civil Engineering
· Highways and Maintenance Repair
· Residential Development

There are two pathways in this qualification: production and commercial. This qualification recognises the knowledge, skills and competence of experienced and senior site managers, project managers, contracts managers, construction directors and many more roles. Our NVQ assessment process is Assessor led, so you do not need to worry about producing evidence or written work. Your Assessor will manage the process for you and help you gather your evidence in an efficient and suitable way.

We take card payments, including credit cards and bank transfer. If you want to discuss payment methods including instalments give us a call and we will see what we can do. No certificates or cards will be sent without full payment.

We aim to complete all assessments in 10 weeks.
